Um Secede perhaps? How serious are we to take these people? Self deportation is an option you know. Unless you can’t spell passport. Or Mexico. Or Canada, etc, etc. Hell, they couldn’t even spell cat if we spotted them the c and the a.

I would take them as serious as we took them last time:

Speaking on “The McLaughlin Group” the weekend after George W. Bush’s victory, panelist Lawrence O’Donnell, a former Democratic Senate staffer, noted that blue states subsidize the red ones with their tax dollars, and said, “The big problem the country now has, which is going to produce a serious discussion of secession over the next 20 years, is that the segment of the country that pays for the federal government is now being governed by the people who don’t pay for the federal government.”

A shocked Tony Blankley asked him, “Are you calling for civil war?” To which O’Donnell replied, “You can secede without firing a shot.”

If I could stomach MSNBC it would be fun to watch Lo’D go on and on about the Tea Baggers…

Hey Pino it’s good to hear from you! Other than watching Rachel Maddow from time to time, I’m not big on MSNBC either. I find their talking heads to be as annoying as the Fox News talking heads.

Thanks for the link, it was an interesting read. I think it just goes to show that secession threats are about as credible as talk of the rapture. It does however, indicate how polarizing and divisive our politics are. One side wins, and the other side wants to leave the country, or form their own country. Yeesh.

In their defense, I don’t think it’s that they can’t spell…it’s that they’re having trouble coordinating performance art with signs 🙂 I can relate.

And yes, Lawrence O’Donnell has been incredibly entertaining to watch lately. (Although probably for a different reason for me–he has been part of my weeklong and ongoing gloatfest.)

It’s kind of indicative of the GOP in general. These people had their own ideas of where the letters should go, and their lack of working together resulted in a massive message delivery fail.

      • November 14, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Ha! So it’s really their usual disconnect from reality–“the word is spelled this way, but it *should* be spelled that way dammit!” NOW it all makes perfect sense.

. The photo was taken June 12 2009 and posted June 14 2009. It was at the Motorcycle ROT RALLY 2009. GO INDEPENDENT PEOPLE no democrat no republican

Hmmm, a Republic of Texas biker rally? http://www.rotrally.com/ The image might be dated (2009), but the message is still the same. It’s poorly spelled, but still the same. Don’t tell me that these aren’t red staters who wanted to get away from the scary black guy in the White House. I’m betting these same people have signed this year’s petition as well.

Canada already has a growing number of right wing nutbars of its own. (Nowhere near the number in America though.) You guys can keep them. In fact, feel free to take ours.

I’m willing to throw in some free Albertan oil, if that’s what it takes.

    • November 15, 2012 at 7:31 pm

If you send us your wing nuts, then we’ll have a wing nut mandate. We’ll just take your oil 😉
