Oslo, Norway Bombing Linked To Utøya Shooting, Police Say
The Norwegian police are now stating that the bombing in downtown Norway is linked to the horrific shooting that occurred on Utoya, an island off that coast of Norway. A suspect described as tall and blonde and wearing a police uniform was apprehended at the shooting site on Utoya, and has been confirmed as Norwegian. It has been reported that the suspect was seen at the site of the bombing moments before the devastating blast. Police also believe that both attacks were directed at Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who was scheduled to speak at the youth Labor Union camp. No other details have been released as of yet.
The question still remains as to why? I suppose he could have links to an extremist Islam terror network such as Al Qaeda, but it doesn’t make much sense to me. If this man was working with Islamic terrorists, the attack would have been planned to inflict maximum damage with maximum casualties. While there was a lot of both, don’t get me wrong about that, it just seems to me that an Islamic terrorist group would have planned the bombing for a time when there were more people around. This seems more like a domestic terrorist attack perpetrated by an amateur with a grudge toward the Norwegian Prime minister and/or the leftist Labor Party that he heads up. Hopefully, we’ll find out more soon!
