I’ve Been Going Commando Since March, And I’ve loved Every Minute!

Cincinnati Commandos

No, not that commando. Get your minds out of the gutter. What I’m talking about is the Cincinnati Commandos. They are a professional indoor football team that started playing in 2010. The Commandos feature a dazzling array of area talent, including BGSU all time leading passer Tyler Sheehan, who by the way was league MVP this year. They also feature former University of Cincinnati All American Terrelle Byrd, and former Cincinnati Bengal Purnell Phillips. The Commandos have won the CIFL two years in a row, with their latest championship win coming last night over the thuglike Marion Blue Racers, 44-29. The win capped off an exciting undefeated season.

My partner and I decided to check out the Commandos this season, and after the home opener, we never missed a home game! They not only won all their games this year, they won big. The closest margin of victory was by 6 points, in a tight mid season game at Marion. The Commandos have something the NFL Bengals will never have; a prolific offense, a stifling defense, and well, good coaching and good players. We’re definitely going back next year!

Congratulations on the awesome win last night. Roll Commandos!

Who’s the rocket scientist who came up with that logo? It looks like a TV station test pattern screen, from 50 years ago.

It sorta does, LOL. Just replace the C with the head of a Native American Chieftain. They’re a helluva team though. They helped feed our football fix, while we’re anxiously awaiting what’s going on in the NFL, as well as the NCAA investigation of the Buckeyes.

Being a KU / KC Chiefs fan, I don’t watch much football.
