Would You Like Lemon and Rocket Fuel in Your Water Maam?

Clean drinking water...not self-evident for ev...

Apparently there is a chemical in our drinking water used to make rocket fuel and fireworks. This chemical called perchlorate can wreak havoc with the thyroid; it interferes with the thyroid’s ability to produce certain growth hormones in adults as well as unborn babies. If that isn’t enough to scare the shit out of you there’s more. Perchlorate can also cause fertility problems in women. These are just the health issues that the government is finally cluing us in on. You can bet your ass that there’s more to it than thyroid and fertility risks.

Perchlorate in our water is not a new issue; the EPA wanted to deal with it as far back as 2008, but the Bush administration nixed their efforts. This comes as no surprise to me. My question is how long has this been going on? I would imagine a long time, given our government’s penchant for keeping information from the public. My next question would be is how in the hell did a chemical used to make rocket fuel and incendiaries get in our water supply. I understand that some perchlorates are naturally occurring, but not the kind that’s used for fuel.

It seems that the government knowingly put the population at risk once again. How long are we going to put up with this? They allow companies to poison our environment, and in turn poison millions of people. We won’t have to worry about overpopulation for long. If the earth doesn’t obliterate us in an effort to save herself first, government sanctioned poisoning of our population will eventually slow down the birthrate until we all die out in the long run.
