Rick Santorum Uses His Sick Daughter To Score Political Points With Gun Lovers | Addicting Info
Even though he is no longer a presidential candidate, Mr. Frothy Mix is still determined to keep his name in the spotlight by still more acts of conservative depravity. This time he further raised the bar of ass holiness by registering his three year old terminally ill daughter in the NRA, so that he could score political brownie points with one of the largest conservative voter bases. What a douche.

Rick Santorum Knows More About Torture Than John McCain.
My favorite political punching bag Rick Santorum is back at it again. His target this time is fellow Republican John McCain.
McCain, who is the top Republican on the Senate Armed Forces Committee, stated last week that “Enhanced Interrogation” techniques (water boarding) of Al Qaeda’s #3 leader did not provide useful information leading to the capture of Osama bin Laden. In fact, he stated that the “enhanced interrogation” of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed ” actually produced false and misleading information.”
In response to McCain’s statements, Santorum declared during a radio interview on Tuesday that “McCain doesn’t understand how enhanced interrogation works.” Wait, what?
If anyone should understand enhanced interrogation techniques (torture) should work, it would be McCain, a former Vietnamese POW for 5 1/2 years!
Once again, Santorum is displaying his vast ignorance on a topic he knows nothing about. To call out John McCain on torture techniques is akin to trying to tell Chef Boy R Dee how to make bad Italian food. In other words, Rick the dick has no fucking idea what he’s talking about. Again.
I think rather than McCain trying to explain what “enhanced interrogation” is, maybe he should demonstrate torture methods on Santorum. Who knows, maybe the former war hero will get the former senator to admit to buggering fellow homophobe Fred Phelps. That should prove just how reliable extracting information by torture really is.

Steve Simon Battles Minnesota Homophobes On Same Sex Marriage.
“How many more gay people does God have to create before we ask ourselves whether or not God actually wants them around?”
This quote was given by State representative Steve Simon to the Minnesota house committee, in an effort to convince the Republican dominated legislature not to insert a same sex marriage ban into their state constitution. The measure passed in spite of his impassioned plea.
For those who believe in god, this quote should ring true; if we are all ostensibly god’s creatures, then to deny those of same sex orientation the same rights as heterosexuals is a sin, right?
For those of us who are atheists, the same quote applies. Simply replace the word “god” with nature. It still makes sense, does it not? Understand this: same sex orientation is a natural occurrence in the animal kingdom, and we are animals!
To deny same sex marriage is to deny human rights. Steve Simon gets that. I wish there were more Steve Simons in the world. I also wish there were less pious homophobes such as Rick Santorum, or the Minnesota legislature in the world. I’m not holding my breath though; I would probably suffocate waiting for such a sweeping change in misplaced morality.

Gone Protesting
It’s going to be a busy day for my partner and I. We’re heading back to Columbus to march in the protest against the proposed de-funding of Planned Parenthood, and then we will be joining the protesters against SB5. I’ll be taking the trusty camcorder to get some pictures and footage of both rallies. Hopefully I’ll get more shots of the action and less shots of my feet. I really need to take a photography class!

It’s Time to Take a Stance in Ohio, And We’re Going to be There
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it, has earned – this is the sum of good government. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Tuesday is going to be a big day for my partner and me. A protest will be staged in Ohio’s capital city Columbus in order to show Gov. John Kasich that stripping state workers of their right to organized labor is no more acceptable than it is in Wisconsin. We’re going to be there alongside protesting workers, letting our voices be known. We will be boarding a bus provided by boldprogressive.org , which is a group fighting fiercely for progressive change in our government. The bus will board here in Cincinnati, and will take us and hopefully several others, to stand united with angry state workers in Columbus.
Ohio Senate Bill 5 which is proposed by state senator Shannon Jones is due to come for a vote in Columbus and fast. The proposed bill, supported by Gov. Kasich would eliminate the collective bargaining power of state employees in Ohio. In other words here in Ohio our conservative lawmakers hate union labor just as much as they do in Madison. Like the state employees in Wisconsin, there are a lot of pissed off people who are starting to show up at the statehouse to let Gov Kasich know that they are outraged.
This is what democracy is about; according to Thomas Jefferson, the people have to right to speak out against and even overturn government when that government begins to infringe on our civil liberty. Collective bargaining has been a worker’s right for decades , and is ingrained in our country’s heritage. To take it away at this point is yet another step toward America becoming a military dictatorship, where no one has any rights whatsoever.
To paraphrase the deceased liberal historian and political activist Howard Zinn, “Democracy does not lie in our government, it lies within the people.” Every time we the people rise up peacefully to stop any oppression perpetrated by our government, Thomas Jefferson must look down upon us and smile. I hope he smiles upon us tomorrow.

South Dakota has Lost its Freaking Mind.
I picked this up from Whatever Works. Legislation is under way to legalize the killing of abortion doctors in South Dakota. This is fucking insane. If anyone in the South Dakota legislature including the sponsor( Phil Jenson) should vote to pass this bill, they should be arrested and federally prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for inciting violence and murder. This bill is just as outrageous and disgusting as the murdering christian conservative zealots who think it’s ok to terrorize and kill those who do not think and act as they do.
