Doing A Little House Cleaning

I’m in the process of updating my blog roll, something I haven’t done in about a year and a half. If you’re following my blog, chances are pretty good that I’m following yours as well. Check out the list, and if you don’t see your blog, let me know. I would be happy to add it. Furthermore, if anybody know s of some good sites, let me know. I’m always on the look out for new stuff to check out!

Dear (Fill in The Blank) Zealots – Shut The F#ck Up!

Fuck you

Fuck you (Photo credit: Stéphane Giner)

No one is coming to take your guns – please, shut the fuck up.

You don’t need an assault gun with a grenade launcher to hunt deer or protect your home – please, shut the fuck up.

The Muslims and atheists are not coming to blow up your churches or rob you of your religion- please, shut the fuck up.

Gays and lesbians getting married do not rob you of your rights, nor do they violate the sanctity of marriage- please, pretty please with whipped cream and a cherry on top, shut the fuck up.

Obama is not a socialist, nor is he coming to take your big screen TV to give to a poor person. Corporate profits have soared under Obama- please, shut the fuck up.

Climate change is real, and this planet is in grave danger of dying – please, shut the fuck up: your blustering over cyclical temps is greatly contributing to our carbon foot print.

Obama is not out to steal your liberties: He’s too busy killing innocent people of color in third world countries with his killer robot planes – please, shut the fuck up.

Reagan and Bush spent way more, and contributed more to the deficit than Obama – please, shut the fuck up.

Supply side economics doesn’t work – please, shut the fuck up.

Women deserve to have control over their own bodies – please, take your patriarchal, misogynistic views, and shut that whole fucking thing down.

Getting more people to work is more important than austerity: More workers equals more taxpayers and consumers, which equals more revenue – Mitch please, shut the fuck up.

God is indeed in our schools: if a student so desires to bring god with him or her to school, she or he has every right to do so – can I get a please shut the fuck up?

Most people don’t want “gifts” from our government. What they want is a chance for a good education, a good job, and a good life – please, help yourself to a Mitt Romney sized cup of shut the fuck up.

Liberals are not some communist horde looking to tear down America. We simply want to level the playing field in order to make sure that everyone has a chance to work hard, and build America up – please, right wing pundits, shut the fuck up.

If I left any wing nuts out, don’t worry I’ll get to you – in the mean time have a seat in yonder corner, and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Tax Break? Did You Say Tax Break?

Most of us can’t even finance a stick of gum: Why are tax breaks for the ultra rich even a topic of discussion?

A tip of the tin foil hat to Being Liberal for sharing.

Sums It Up For Me.

A tip of the tinfoil hat to The Other 98% for sharing this. It would be nice to have a party of which corporations are not their most important constituents. Radical right or moderate right really isn’t much of a choice.

Has Anybody Seen My Blog? I Seem To Have Misplaced It!

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, and many of my blogging buddies have been asking about me. I’m doing ok. I’m busy as hell, but for the most part, I’m doing alright.

The last couple of months have been a whirlwind; there has been some major restructuring at work that has kept me pretty busy. In addition, my school workload has gotten significantly heavier. Between work and school, the time or desire to read and write blogs has pretty much been zero. I haven’t even been keeping up on current events; is Herman Cain still a Koch sucking, arrogant, prejudiced, homophobic, misogynist asshole?

Any way, don’t worry; I’m still around, and I’m starting to feel the itch to blog again. Hopefully, I’ll get back to writing daily, and interacting in all the awesome blogs that my WordPress friends are working on. In the meantime, if ya’ll wouldn’t mind catching me up on current affairs in the comments section, I would appreciate it :)

My thanks to all my friends who have been checking on me!

Ta for now!

And The Winner of Pick Your Topic Tuesday Is:

Phil, from Possible Experience with his suggestion of a thoughtful discussion of the value/dis-value of yet another Planet of the Apes movie.  I will have a minimum 300 word post on this controversial topic no later than Friday night. The post will give credit to Phi for his suggestion, along with some background on his blog.

Thanks to everybody for their great suggestions this week; I’ll see you next Tuesday!

Pick Your Topic Tuesday

Every Tuesday morning, I  open up the floor to suggestions for a topic that you would like me to talk about. Submit your suggestion in the comments section after my Tuesday morning prompt post. I pick one of the topics submitted, and deliver a minimum300 word post no later than Friday, with all the Tin Foil trimmings.

Here’s the criteria: no topic is taboo, however there are no guarantees how I treat the topic. I will research and form my own opinion, and write about it in my own special way ;) Please be as specific as you can with the topic, if you submit something broad like “religion” for example, I just may go down a rabbit hole that you would not expect.

I will announce the winning topic no later than Wednesday night. The person who suggests the winning topic for the week will get full credit in the post featuring the topic . If you’re a blogger, I will make sure I include your blog site info. Plus the winner will receive total consciousness, so you’ll have that going for you.

And The Winner of Pick Your Topic Tuesday Is:

I’ll be damned, we have a tie. As usual, there were some great topic suggestions to choose from. However there are two in particular that really piqued my interest, so I’m choosing both! Congratulations to this week’s co-winners; Marcy Harris with her suggestion, of looking into this whole breast feeding baby doll controversy, and Don in Mass with his suggestion that I blog about why there have been so many Cincinnati Bengals arrested over the years. Whew! I have my work cut out for me this week!

I will have two separate posts, each 300 word minimums on the blog no later than Friday evening. Each blog will come with all the Tin Foil Hat trimmings, including giving credit to Don and Marcy for their suggestions. I would talk about Marcy’s blog, but she doesn’t have one. However, me and Marcy grew up together, so maybe I’ll take a ride in the way back machine, and reveal some juicy dark secret about Marcy’s past ;)

Thanks again to everyone who contributed this week, and I’ll see you back here next Tuesday!
